Description

I would like to invite you to join me on a tour of the superb P'tchi via ferrata in the heart of the Bauges massif in Savoie department, in an exceptional setting.

If you like to progress through natural environments with exceptional scenery, have already done via ferrata or if you are an athlete who keeps fit, you are the perfect adventurer for this route! This route is aimed at those who want to have fun during a physical outing, during a beautiful half-day in the mountains.

After an easy 45-minute downhill approach walk through an enchanted forest, the start is almost toes-in-the-water near a beautiful waterfall (a must in the region). The first vertical wall is 20 meters long, followed by a second wall and a vertiginous traverse to the right. After a few overhanging passages and a 10-meter dihedral, you come out onto grassy ledges. This is followed by a long traverse to the left through a grotto that is refreshing in summer. You then reach a long footbridge over 35 meters long, followed by two beams and a final 25-meter wall.

After an easy 45-minute downhill approach walk in an enchanted forest, the departure is almost with your feet in the water near a beautiful waterfall (a must-see in the region). You will cross a first vertical wall of 20 meters then a second wall and a crossing on the right that is quite vertiginous. After a few overhanging passages and a dihedral of 10 meters, we arrive at a wide grassy ledge. Follows a long crossing on the left where technical and physical passages alternate with other more relaxing ones. You then reach, thanks to an impressive ladder, the curiosity of the via: "the Carret eye", a cavity in the rock, in which it is possible to rest and enjoy the exceptional panorama. The following vertiginous and overhanging sections arrive at the Sappey footbridge, more than 30 meters long (not mandatory, an escape route allows you to finish the route more calmly). You then have the choice of continuing on the P'tchi route, with two balance beams and a final delicate and athletic wall, or branching off onto the ledge of the sidewalk which leads you to the Grotte à Carret via ferrata, rated ED (extremely difficult) and very dizzy. All these variants end at the Charvettan rock belvedere, the end of the ascent.

All along this route, you will have the same scenery as the famous and extremely difficult via ferrata Jules Carret, but at a more affordable level.
