I invite you to join me for a magnificent ski touring trip in the Maira valley, in the heart of Piedmont, Italy.
Rightly considered one of Europe's ski touring paradises, the Maira valley has numerous routes for all levels. I propose a 6-day star-shaped ski touring trip in these wonderful and wild mountains, where we will search for the best spring snow and, perhaps, even a bit of powder.
To prepare for this trip, I recommend this 3 days of basic ski touring course in the Aosta valley to improve your techniques in all snow conditions.
You can also join me for 4 days of ski touring in the valleys around Gran Paradiso and, to go further, a ski mountaineering discovery course in the Aosta Valley.
Program
Day 1: Transport to the Maira valley and first ski touring outing.
We will meet early in the morning for our first ski tour. This short outing is necessary to assess the participants' technical skills and will be chosen based on the current conditions.
Half-board accommodation in a mountain inn.
Days 2 to day 5: Ski touring outings in the Maira valley.
The choice of ski tours will depend on the snow conditions, the participants' technical skills, and the mountain conditions.
Half-board accommodation in a mountain inn.
Day 6: Final ski touring outing.
Last ski tour in the Maira valley.
End of the trip in the afternoon and return home.
The price includes
- Supervision by the UIAGM-certified mountain guide.
- Half-board accommodation in a mountain inn.
- Half-board accommodation and round-trip transfer to the Maira Valley for the mountain guide.
The price does not include
- Round-trip transportation to the Maira valley, a one-hour and twenty-minute drive from Cuneo.
- Transfers to the starting points of the chosen hikes.
- Lunch time picnics and snacks.
- Drinks.
- Personal expenses.
- Any additional hotel nights.
- Tips.
- Insurance covering hospitalization and repatriation costs in case of emergency.
- Lunches, trail snacks, and the guide's transportation are the responsibility of the participants.
