Description

Join me for a mountain trail run in one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the Alps: the Beaufortain!

Between alpine pastures, high-altitude lakes, panoramic ridges, and the iconic peaks of the Beaufortain, this outing is designed for runners who want to discover mountain trail running or acquire the essential skills to navigate the trails more independently.

During a route of approximately 15 to 20 kilometers with 800 to 1,000 meters of elevation gain, we will alternate between brisk walking on the climbs and running on the flatter sections and easy descents, allowing us to progress at a pace suited to the group. The goal is not performance, but learning, enjoyment, and discovering the mountains.

Throughout the outing, we will cover the fundamentals of trail running: pacing, uphill and downhill techniques, using poles, breathing, nutrition, and hydration. We will also take the time to develop the essential skills for safe mountain trail running.

You will learn, in particular, how to:

  • Choose a route suited to your level.
  • Prepare an outing based on the weather and terrain conditions.
  • Pack appropriate equipment and organize your pack.
  • Manage your nutrition and hydration.
  • Anticipate specific mountain risks and adopt the right reflexes.

This outing is designed as a true introduction to self-reliance in the mountains, allowing you to then set off on your own routes with greater confidence and peace of mind.

Depending on the season, conditions, and the group's level, different routes may be offered, particularly around the Grand Mont, the Roche Parstire ridge, or the Roc du Vent, each offering exceptional views of the peaks and lakes of the Beaufortain region.

Nutrition and hydration: To fully enjoy the outing, it is recommended to bring some trail snacks (energy bars, dried fruit, nuts, or gels) as well as an isotonic drink. Bring at least 1 liter of water at the start, with opportunities to refill water sources along certain routes (streams, springs, or lakes depending on conditions).

Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to discover trail running in a new way: learn, improve, and gain confidence in an exceptional mountain environment.

If this day of discovery of the activity makes you want to go further, I also recommend:
