I invite you to join me in the heart of the Hautes-Pyrénées department near the village of Saint-Pé-de-Bigorre to discover caving in the Pâle cave.

Whether you are with family, on your own, or with friends, this cave is the perfect place for a caving introduction! You will walk, squeeze through narrow spots (rest assured, there are no nightmarish passages), and discover a host of magnificent sights. Located just a few kilometers from Lourdes, the Pâle cave offers a truly stunning environment for your first underground adventure. With a primarily horizontal layout, we will explore large chambers and fascinating galleries together. You will also enjoy the beautiful forest of the Pibeste-Aoulhet massif, which we will traverse to reach the cave entrance.

This outing is suitable for children aged 6 and up.

Program

  • Meet at Saint-Pé-de-Bigorre, a 15-minute drive from Lourdes and 40 minutes from Pau.
  • Distribution of gear and equipment.
  • 20-minute approach walk to the cave entrance.
  • Cave exploration and discovery.
  • 20-minute walk back to the parking area.
  • Returning the equipment.
  • Allow for a total of approximately 3 hours of activity.

The price includes

  • Supervision by the caving instructor.
  • Loan of the equipment required for the activity: full-body suit, helmet with light, knee pads, and gloves.

The price does not include

  • Round trip transportation to Saint-Pé-de-Bigorre.
  • Sports shoes + spare shoes and socks.
  • Sports trousers/shorts.
  • Sports T-shirt + sweater/fleece (it is 13°C underground).
  • A bottle of water.
  • SPF 50 sunscreen 😎.
  • Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
