Description

I invite you to join me in the heart of the Hautes-Pyrénées department, near the village of Saint-Pé-de-Bigorre, for an advanced caving outing in the boundary stone 109 chasm.

After a quick approach hike through the forest, it’s time to start this action-packed route that involves rope work!
You will tackle a series of rappels (up to 15 meters), some traverse sections suspended over open space, navigate technical and physically demanding passages, and, of course, perform several rope ascents along the way up!

This caving trip is perfect for satisfying the curiosity of any budding caver. And let’s not forget the highlight hidden deep within the cave, about 100 meters underground: a chamber filled with magnificent white formations. So, are you up for it?

This outing is open to teenagers aged 14 and up.

Program

Meet at Saint-Pé-de-Bigorre, a 15-minute drive from Lourdes and 40 minutes from Pau.
Distribution of gear and equipment.
5-minute approach walk to the cave entrance.
Descent and discovery of the cave.
Rope ascent.
5-minute walk back to the parking area.
Returning the equipment.
Allow for a total of approximately 6 to 7 hours of activity.

The price includes

Supervision by the caving instructor.
Loan of the equipment required for the activity: full-body suit, helmet with light, harness, belay device, knee pads, and gloves.

The price does not include

Round trip transportation to Saint-Pé-de-Bigorre.
Sports shoes + spare shoes and socks.
Sports trousers/shorts.
Sports T-shirt + sweater/fleece (it is 13°C underground).
Picnic lunch (as compact as possible).
A bottle of water.
SPF 50 sunscreen 😎.
