Ice climbing day in Savoie, Isère, Hautes-Alpes

Description

Do you already have some ice climbing experience or are you a climber and know how to use crampons and ice axes?
Are you tempted by the prospect of a multi-pitch climb on a temporary ice structure?
Then come and join me to climb a 100-meter, 200-meter, or even higher waterfall!

If necessary, I will take advantage of this climb to explain a few important principles and give you advice on how to adopt the appropriate technique for this activity, optimize your movements, and position your body, which will allow you to progress while conserving your energy. We will also cover topics such as specific dangers and management of low temperatures. This will ensure you get the most out of your day of ice climbing!

This multi-pitch ice climbing route can be climbed in various locations depending on conditions, your location, and your preferences:

• in the Écrins massif, for example in La Grave, around the village of Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans, in the Diable valley (also knowned as Selle valley), in the Champsaur valley (Tourengs sector or others), etc.
• in the massif of Belledonne: cirque of Boulon, waterfalls of Oule, etc.
• in the Maurienne valley: near the resorts of Valfréjus, La Norma, Bessans, etc.
• in the Tarentaise valley: above Peisey-Nancroix, etc.
• or in many other places.

All these spots offer multiple routes, often very beautiful and in wild environments, and for all levels, from 3 to 5, or even higher.

If you are a beginner or if you prefer to practice before tackling an icy route of several pitches, I also propose a day of initiation to ice climbing in Isère or in the Hautes-Alpes.

I also offer summer mountaineering trips, such as climbing Mont Aiguille or ridge routes in the Vercors or Chartreuse mountains.

Program

• Meet at the practice location or carpool.
• Multi-pitch ice climbing in the day (level to be defined together) or on a weekend.

The price includes

• Supervision by the mountain guide.
• Equipment needed to practice the activity (ropes, ice screws, etc.).
• Loan of harnesses and helmets.

The price does not include

• Return transport to the meeting point (carpooling possible depending on the location and where you live).
• Ski lifts if needed.
• Equipment rental (warm and cramponable mountaineering shoes, ice axes, crampons, avalanche beacon, etc.).
• Picnic lunch.
• Snacks.
• Drinks.
• Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
