Description

Throughout the winter season, I offer snowshoe outings in the Vercors massif with the aim of studying the snow cover.

During these outings, we will be walking on snow, which is essentially solid water! The rapid changes in its composition make it a material whose stability is difficult to predict.

Using tools and simple observation methods, we will try to discover some keys to help us make useful decisions in the field. By gaining a better understanding of how snow transforms and the influence this has on its stability, you will find it easier to become more independent in all your snow activities and you will never look at the mountains in the same way again.

During this snowshoe outing near the village of Villard-de-Lans, the avalanche beacon, shovel and probe will be not be provided.

An observation of the signs of presence of the fauna will also be in the program.

To challenge yourself, discover the mountains or observe the local fauna, I also offer themed outings such as:

Program

  • 9am: Meeting near Villard-de-Lans and briefing.
  • 9.15am: Evolution on the course, choice and explanation of the route, etc.
  • Survey, data analysis, reflections.
  • 11.30am: Walk back to the starting point.
  • 12pm: Debriefing and end of the activity.

The price includes

  • Supervision by the mountain leader.
  • Loan of equipment: snowshoes and observation equipment.

The price does not include

  • Return transport to the meeting point near the village of Villard-de-Lans, 45 minutes drive from Grenoble and one hour and fifteen minutes from Valence.
  • Avalanche beacon, shovel and probe (mandatory).
  • Snacks.
  • Drinks.
  • Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
