Description

With my experience in high latitudes, I propose to explore the most beautiful sites and wild fjords of the east coast of Greenland.

On the comfortable Kamak boat, we will visit territories still preserved from the human footprint. The activities are organized in one or two separate small teams to suit everyone's expectations. We will have the opportunity to hike on dry land or glacier with possible approach by kayak. You can also stay on board to just admire our environment, cook, or fish.

The aim of this expedition is to bring together people who are curious or passionate about the polar environment and keen to travel in a way that goes beyond simply being a tourist consuming destinations and timed activities.

Here are the fjords of the east coast of Greenland that we will likely visit:

  1. The bay of Scoresby Sund where the small airport of Constable Point is located.
  2. Nansen fjord with its huge glacier which flows into the sea and generates numerous icebergs. It is possible to make magnificent excursions there.
  3. Kangerlugssuaq fjord, one of the wildest fjords because of its remoteness and the absence of any village, except for the fishermen's village which has been abandoned for over 50 years. It has one of the largest glaciers on the east coast that comes directly from the ice cap. The terrain that awaits you is grassy or dry rocky with slabs of rock.
  4. Kangertiviagssaq fjord and the circus of the Mythic mountains and the glacier of France explored by the commander Charcot nearly a century ago. Sumptuous hikes on dry or glacial terrain await you.
  5. Sermilik Fjord and its small fishing villages such as Tiniteqilak.
  6. Louise Boyd Land Fjords, named after the first white explorer to travel the Arctic lands on board a ship. She organized 7 expeditions there between 1926 and 1941, in particular to map the fjords north of Scoresby Sund.

On this ship I also propose other trips:
