Description

Do you have an electric mountain bike but you are not completely comfortable depending on the terrain in front of you?
Do you want to successfully tame your new bike and be more comfortable in the mountains?
Would you simply like to progress while discovering a new destination?
So this introductory electric mountain bike course should perfectly meet your expectations!

As an MCF (French Cycling Instructor) MTB school in the Queyras massif, I have built an evolving program over 4 days, during which you will be able to improve your mountain bike riding technique without missing a single thing of the landscape!

After working on the essential technical skills in the morning, we set off for contemplative hikes in one of the Queyras valleys in the afternoon. This will allow you to apply the instructor's advice in the situation!

The highlights of the course

  • Educational workshops with an MCF instructor.
  • A good balance between "mountain bike lessons" in the morning and "contemplative hiking" adapted to the level in the afternoon.
  • Transfers and drop-offs in a 9-seater minibus with trailer to concentrate on the best sections.
  • The repair and cleaning station available in the evening.

Program

Day 1: Fundamentals of mountain biking and discovery of the Aigues valley.
To get this course off to a good start, we take the time to discuss actions to improve and your cycling experience. Once the framework is set, we quickly leave for a first accessible sector to tackle the fundamental technical actions (posture, braking control, maneuverability). The important thing is to gain confidence.
After a well-deserved break and a country picnic, we set off for a walk now focused on discovering the Saint-Véran valley.
Night in a comfortable lodge.

Day 2: Management of trajectories and discovery of Souliers and Lac de Roue.
Same principle as the day before: we devote the morning to technical workshops to improve the gestures covered the day before then head to a larch forest to work on trajectories, low-speed movements, understand the importance of looking, etc. The goal is to no longer have any apprehension about gaining altitude and to control your bike whatever the pace.
Today's spot overlooks the imposing fort of Château Queyras and allows us to access Roue lake and then the hidden valley of Souliers.
Night in a comfortable lodge.

Day 3: Crossings, ascent-descent and discovery of the Ceillac valley.
Now that you have mastered a real range of technical gestures, we can go to the Ceillac pump track to understand the coordination that must be put in place to be able to adapt to the terrain. In fact, you will have to use the latter to move your bike forward without any pedaling! It’s exhausting, so to catch our breath, we will then study the crossing technique.
After the mid-day rest, we leave for a hike facing the Font Sancte massif and we will enjoy the tumultuous torrents, timeless villages and an ice cream at the end of the day.
Night in a comfortable lodge.

Day 4: Reviews and nice mountain ride.
To end the course, we are going together for a real day outing during which we will take the time to review the technical actions covered during your mountain bike course. We gain height to seek out beautiful mountain pasture atmospheres and beautiful panoramas. As you've progressed, maybe I'll take you on some rolling singles to end the week!
