Go for 4 days of ski touring around the city of Aosta in Italy, for medium-length outings but very formative for those who want to improve their knowledge of ski touring.
The main objective is to improve the basic techniques of progression in ski touring and off-piste skiing during climb (use of skins, steps in movement, ski slip, turns, etc) and downhill (skids, turns, turns with base opening, etc).
D1: Meet at 7.30am at the planned location, transfer to the ski resort of Pila and ski touring climb along a forest route that will take you to the top of the slopes at 2310m. We will deal with ascent and descent techniques, ski touring equipment, avalanche rescue with DVA, probe and shovel. In the afternoon, transfer to the hotel where we will talk about weather and avalanche forecasts, topography and helicopter rescue. ½ board at the hotel.
Total duration: 4h to 4h30, positive and negative elevation: 460m.
D2: Meet at 8am at the hotel, transfer to the Great-Saint-Bernard Valley, in the village of Bhutier (1350m) and climb to the Chaligne refuge (1934m) for an upgrade. In the afternoon, return to the hotel where you will study the next day's outing. ½ board at the hotel.

In the afternoon, return to the hotel where you will study the outing of the next day.
Total duration: 4 to 5 hours, E+/- 800m.
