Description
Only half an hour drive from Porto-Vecchio and the Mediterranean seaside, in the heart of the Alta-Rocca region, I will make you discover, between mysterious forest and granite chaos, all the natural and historical heritage of this magical place that is Ospédale.
In the heart of the Alta Rocca region, a veritable citadel of stone, the Ospédale is an artificial lake whose waters are held back by a dam built in the late 70s. Situated at an altitude of 900 meters, the idyllic environment is a paradise for hiking enthusiasts. The flora here is made up of Lariccio pines and beech trees, as well as scrubland and garrigue. The geology also contributes to the beauty of the area, thanks to the pink granite. Last but not least, the fauna is not left out, and you will be able to observe mouflons, lizards, frogs, cows and wild pigs.
Around midday, we will take time to enjoy a picnic in front of one of the most beautiful panoramas in southern Corsica.

Program
- Meet at 9am in Porto-Vecchio (departure from the Ospedale road) or at 9.30am at Cartalavonu crossroads before Ospedale lake .
- Departure of the hike to the Ospedale at 9.35am.
3 hours of hiking, positive altitude difference of 300 meters. - Picnic on the spot.
- Return to vehicles around 3pm.

- Return transport to Porto-Vecchio or Cartalavonu crossroads.
- Return transfer to the start of the hike.
