As an ANENA trainer (French National Association for the Study of Snow and Avalanches), I propose this introduction to ski touring course entitled "ski touring trace following" and taking place in Italy, in Aosta Valley.

Follow the trace: 2 days of training to learn to understand the choices made during a ski touring or off-piste skiing outing. This will allow you to better follow the instructions of the most expert and also to acquire yourself the ability to decide when and how to go skiing.

D1: Meet at 7.30am at the ski lifts of La Thuile (Aosta Valley - Italy), check of the personal equipment of each trainee and start of the course with a theoretical part about snow and avalanches (duration 1h30). The day will continue by making a ski touring route around the top of the ski lifts. On this course we will apply the principles treated in the morning. Return to the hotel in La Thuile in the afternoon, then preparation of the next day's outing.
½ board at the hotel.

D2: Meet at 8am at the hotel for the realization of the planned outing. This one will have been chosen together, according to the objectives of the training which will be treated during the outing.
Return around 3.30 / 4pm. Debriefing of the course.

The price includes

  • Supervision by the mountain guide for the duration of the program.
