Introduction to rock climbing in the Vercors (Isère)

Description

For this introductory climbing session, we will go to the village of Lans-en-Vercors (a 20-minute drive from Grenoble and in the heart of the Vercors massif) to a one-pitch routes site suitable for everyone!

You wish to climb for pleasure and to initiate you to the basic climbing techniques, abseil accompanied with a guide or by yourself? This outing is made for you, with only a 5-minute approach walk to access the cliff.

Very close to the village of Lans-en-Vercors and located at an altitude of 1,200 meters, the Bec de Cornillon cliff has more than 100 climbing routes. These present a great diversity of difficulty (from grade 3 to grade 8), styles (slab, walls, overhangs) and height (from 15 to 80 meters high). Here you will climb on a beautiful limestone rock, typical of the mountains of the Vercors massif. This famous site is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and the atmosphere is very pleasant and calm. In summary, everything is there to enjoy a great climbing session.

It is possible on request to change the site and go close to Grenoble or in the Southern Vercors for example.

This outing is aimed at adults as well as children.

It's possible to combine this outing with a family snack or lunch at height, or a dinner and a night on the crag. And for younger kids, I also offer climbing discovery courses for children under 5 in the Grenoble area.

You can also opt for an introduction to climbing in one of Grenoble's climbing gyms. And if you want to take your learning further, I recommend this technical climbing course in the Vercors, focusing on cliff safety.

Program

• After reaching the cliff we will climb together.
• You will be briefed on safety and you will have the advice of a professional to make you happy during this climbing outing.
• You will be able to climb for fun but also, on request, learn how to belay, abseil down or do the rope handlings to climb top rope and become autonomous.
• This is a perfect outing with family, couple, friends and even alone for a more qualitative work.

The price includes

• Supervision by the climbing instructor.
• Loan of equipment necessary for the practice of the activity (harness, helmet, lanyard, ropes, quickdraws, belay device, etc.).
• First aid kit.

The price does not include

• Return transport to the meeting place near the village of Lans-en-Vercors.
• Drinks.
• Snacks.
• Picnic lunch.
• Optional: on request, possibility to make photos and/or video of the outing (rate: 30€ for the group).
