Description

I propose you to join me in the medieval village of Simiane-la-Rotonde for a hike along the water, following the Saut du Moine trail and admiring its pools and waterfalls. Starting from the Abbey of Valsaintes, a Cistercian building dating back to the Middle Ages, you will set off to explore this remarkable natural site as well as the natural riches and wildlife of the Luberon.

After this three-hour hike in the heart of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department, you will be welcomed for lunch at the restaurant in the garden of the Valsaintes Abbey to sample the creative homemade cooking of the chef Valentin Herbet.

Program

  • Meeting point at 9am on the parking lot of Valsaintes abbey in the village of Simiane-la-Rotonde, about 40 minutes drive from Forcalquier or Apt.
  • Departure for a 3 hours walk and 150 meters of positive altitude difference.
  • Back to the cars around noon.
  • At 12.30pm, full meal at the restaurant of the Abbaye de Valsaintes.
