This 3-day trail course which takes place near Font-Romeu in the French Eastern Pyrenees aims to teach you how to run at high altitude, on peaks culminating at nearly 3000 meters, by managing your pace and your breathing in hypoxia.
During these three days you will discover the highest peaks of the Eastern Pyrenees, accompanied by two expert trail guides who will give you precious advice. Of course you will also enjoy the magnificent landscapes of the Pyrenees!

Program
D1: Trail running to acclimatize to altitude.
- Morning:
- Meet in Font-Romeu, an hour and a half's drive from Perpignan.
- Theory workshop on static running and correction.
- Analysis of participants' levels to adjust the routes.
- Trail running.
- Acclimatization to altitude.
- Calculation of maximum aerobic speed (MAS) for ascents.
- Technique and management of ascents and descents.
- Sports picnic.
- Afternoon:
- Educational course on adapting to exertion at altitude.
- Second trail run to practice techniques.
- Heart rate analysis.
- Meal and night in a mountain refuge.
D2: Trail run to Pic Carlit.
- Morning:
- Longer trail run than the previous day, with sections at over 2500 meters altitude.
- Distance: between 15 and 20km, elevation gain: 1000 to 1500 meters.
- Management of the aerobic threshold at altitude.
- Sports picnic.
- Afternoon:
- Educational class on nutrition.
- Recovery.
- Meal and night at altitude if 3-day option.
D3 (optional): Trail run to Puig Péric.
- Morning:
- Vertical trail at an altitude of nearly 2900 meters.
- Uphill running techniques.
- Work on endurance.
- Optimizing your stride for the terrain.
- Rock crossing.
- Distance: between 15 and 22km, elevation gain: 1200 to 1500 meters.
- Sports picnic.
- Afternoon:
- Workshop: work on power and maximum climbing speed.
- Strengthening footing on descents.
- Analysis of objectives and development of individual training plans on request.
