Description

Near the nice village of La Palud-sur-Verdon, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department, the Trou du Renard (Fox Hole in english) is a fun and very vertiginous via corda course, located on a cliff overlooking the Verdon river which flows peacefully more than 250 meters below. In this absolutely exceptional environment, the panorama is, of course, truly spectacular!

The departure of the route is reached after walking on a good trail starting close to the Malines panorama. The progression on the Trou du Renard via corda is made along fixed ropes to which you are connected by means of lanyards in order to guarantee a safe evolution. This easy climbing itinerary, which takes place mostly on ledges, is embellished with various workshops that will give you strong sensations: crossing on a beam, abseiling on a spider's thread of about 20 meters, a 40 meter long zip line at a height of 50 meters, Tarzan's jumping (pendular crossing by swinging with a rope like Tarzan on his liana, impressive but very easy and secure) and crossing a small cave (the famous Trou du Renard). Finally, an easy climbing section leads to a path that we follow to come back to the parking lot.

All along this incredible route, you will discover the magnificent and famous gorges of the Verdon and their incredible and spectacular cliffs from a new angle.

If you like this kind of vertical activity with sensations, I recommend the nearby dry canyon of Mainmorte in the heart of the Verdon gorges which combines an incredible descent in a dry and narrow canyon with a superb and vertiginous via corda climbing. But also, a little further south, the Lantosque canyons via ferrata in the Vésubie valley and the Demoiselles du Castagnet via ferrata near Puget-Théniers.

And if you fancy more vertical and aquatic adventures in the region, you can follow me a little further south to explore together some of the magnificent canyons of the Alpes-Maritimes department:
